In a significant achievement, 26 pre-final year students from IIT Patna, including 11 women, have secured 12-week summer internships at Google for software engineering roles. The internship will run from May to July 2025.
Departments Represented:
- Computer Science and Engineering: 16 students
- Mathematics and Computing: 5 students
- Artificial Intelligence and Data Science: 4 students
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering: 1 student
The students were selected after a rigorous online assessment round. Their selection reflects not only their strong technical skills but also IIT Patna’s growing prominence as a center for tech excellence.
Stipend and Opportunities
While Google hasn’t disclosed exact figures, selected interns are expected to receive a monthly stipend ranging from ₹70,000 to ₹2,00,000. These internships offer valuable exposure to real-world projects, mentorship from industry leaders, and a potential pathway to pre-placement offers (PPOs).
The placement cell at IIT Patna credits this success to the institute’s emphasis on practical learning, coding culture, and industry-aligned education.
