Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an allocation of Rs 99,300 crore for the education sector and Rs 3000 crore for skill development in Budget 2020. She added that the center would announce a new education policy soon.
She spoke about a degree-level full-fledged online education programme to be offered by institutes ranked in the top 100 by the NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework). She further added that steps will be taken towards bringing FDI in the education sector.
“Special bridge courses will be designed for teachers, nurses, para-medical staff and caregivers.”
