The Cental Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has confirmed that the information bulletin, carrying details such as the syllabus, exam pattern, language options, eligibility rules, fee structure and important dates, will be published shortly on the official website,i.e.,ctet.nic.in. Candidates have been advised to download and thoroughly read the bulletin before submitting their applications once the registration link is activated.
The entire application process will be online, and forms will be accepted only through the CTET portal.
CTET REGISTRATION 2026: DATES AND OVERVIEW
The registration process for the February 2026 CTET session began on November 27, 2025, following a short delay. Candidates can submit their applications and pay the examination fee until December 18, 2025 (11:59 pm).
CTET continues to serve as a national-level qualifying exam for individuals aspiring to teach at primary (Classes I–V) and upper primary (Classes VI–VIII) levels in schools across the country.

STEPS TO APPLY FOR CTET 2026
- Candidates can register only through ctet.nic.in. The application process includes:
- Filling personal and academic details
- Uploading required documents
- Paying the prescribed examination fee
CBSE has urged applicants to verify eligibility before final submission. Incomplete or incorrect applications may lead to rejection.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Different educational qualifications are required for the two levels of the test.
- Paper I (Classes I–V)
- Candidates must meet at least one of the following:
- Senior Secondary (10+2) with 50% marks and a 2-year D.El.Ed
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks and a 4-year B.El.Ed
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Special Education
- Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed as per NCTE norms
- Paper II (Classes VI–VIII)
- Graduation with minimum required marks and a B.Ed degree (completed or in final year)
- Minimum age: 18 years, with no upper age limit
EXAM PATTERN AND MARKING SCHEME
The CTET examination consists entirely of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each correct answer carries one mark, and no negative marking applies, enabling candidates to attempt all questions without penalty.
The test will be available in multiple languages, and candidates must choose their preferred medium when filling out the application form. Full paper-wise details will be listed in the information bulletin.
