Ambitio, an AI-driven admissions platform, has raised $2 million in a seed funding round led by BLinC Invest, with participation from Impetus Co-founder Ritu Bapna, as well as several soonicorn founders and angel investors from the UK and India.
Founded in 2022 by IIT-BHU graduates Dirghayu Kaushik and Vikrant Shivalik, Ambitio positions itself as India’s first AI-powered platform designed to simplify the university admissions process. By leveraging over 10 million data points and insights from past applicants and alumni, the platform provides students with a personalised and data-driven approach to securing admission into top global institutions.
Unlike traditional consultants, Ambitio operates without university partnerships, ensuring an unbiased experience for students. The platform analyses more than one million successful applications using AI, allowing it to create tailored strategies that significantly improve admission prospects. Additionally, it employs a proprietary algorithm trained on over 50,000 university programmes, matching students with institutions aligned to their academic background, career aspirations, and interests.
With the fresh capital infusion, Ambitio aims to enhance its AI-driven capabilities, expand its distribution channels, and support over 500,000 students in accessing global education within the next two years. The startup’s mission is to bring transparency and efficiency to a complex admissions landscape, helping students make informed decisions based on merit rather than institutional partnerships.
