The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Chairman, Anil Dattaraya Sahasrabudhe. He said that publishing the accreditation status on the institution’s website will be mandatory.
So far about 15% of the higher education institutions in the country are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) or the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
The accreditation of the higher education institutions will encourage a healthy competition among the institutions and thereby can improve the quality of education.
The colleges which will not opt for accreditation will have pay an enrollment fee of ₹1Lakh every year.
The AICTE Chairman urged the institutions to go for a National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) that will help them compete with other premier institutions.
