Covid 19 has indeed derailed many activities and has an all-round impact on many services, including education. We at BMU, due to the availability of sound ICT infrastructure, software resources, e-learning material from different sources, availability of MOOCs from various platforms such as Swayam and Coursera, swiftly shifted to virtual learning and work from home during the lockdown period. At present, the virtual learning is going on smoothly and will continue till April 30. We have a continuous evaluation system. Major part of the internal assessments through assignments, case studies, presentations, seminars, comprehensive viva etc. are also being done online. This has helped in continuing our academic activities on schedule.
We also have provision to conduct online examinations, which will either be done using in-house infrastructure or with the help of some reliable outside agency in this field. For most of the courses in School of Management and School of Law, and for a few courses in School of Engineering Technology, we are shifting to online examinations in the month of May. For the remaining students, we will conduct examinations on campus in the month of July. Prior to this, two weeks have been set aside for recap classes, completion of practicals and projects. All our results will be declared by the end of July. We have revised our current academic calendar by advancing the summer vacations to accommodate this, and will ensure completion of our academic activities by the end of July. The internships for the students have been planned meticulously. Most of the students will undergo online internships during the advanced period of summer break, whereas for the remaining, to complete the internship credit requirements, inhouse society- and industry- relevant projects under the guidance of our faculty and those from our partner institutions, and worthy of executing from home is being worked out. All such measures are being taken for the smooth completion of academic activities of the students without compromising on the quality of education. We will not put any students at any hardships and disadvantage.
