As many as 600 students participated in the France Education Fair held on February 15, in Puducherry, which has been jointly organised by Campus France India, the education wing of French Embassy and Galaxy Education Consultants.
Minister for Public Works K Lakshminarayanan, Puducherry had inaugurated the fair. Consulate General of France in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Lise Talbot Barre, was also present at the function. The Consul General explained to students about the benefits of studying in France.
France is known for its world-class education system and French universities offer a wide range of programmes in diverse fields, such as engineering, business, the arts and the sciences. This has been one of the benefits of studying in France. The language is widely spoken and has been an important international language. Studying in France provides Indian students with the opportunity to learn the language and improve their fluency.
The French government has been working on scholarships and other exchange programmes to attract Indian students, she added. She said that France has aimed of admitting around 30,000 Indian students by 2030. Around 30 French universities participated in the event.
