“Be approachable and keep building on your credibility to be successful“ stated Ms. Santha John Founder Director, Coachlife.asia and Former Chairperson Emeritus, JWT Mindset at the 44th WiseViews Leadership Conversations conducted by ICFAI on February 18, 2022 at 8.00pm. She spoke on the topic “There’s a Brand Within You”.
Ms. Santha John said that everyone is unique and you are your own brand. A brand is a set of expectations, memories etc., that you follow on regular basis. She also quoted Mr. Jeff Bezos statement that “personal brand is something that people talk about you when you are not in the room”. Ms. Santha John advocated that everyone should develop the personal branding, have clear focus on personality development and should project themselves as thought leaders. “View yourself as a trademark and look yourself as a role model”, she said.
Ms. Santha appealed that people should come forward to help others in whichever way they can. She also said that both professional branding and personal branding are same and you should perceive the personal branding as a leadership requirement.
Ms. Santha also gave some tips to build the personal brand. She advised the people to use the technology around to get recognized. She said one has to spend at least 98 hours a week to build their personal brand.
Answering to a query in the Q & A session, Ms. Santha John said that “there are lot of benefits of the personal branding. You might get better career opportunities and you might encounter situations where you could help some people”.
