Encouraging young scientists to follow the path of research is ensuring the future of scientific advancement. In this spirit EuroScience— the European Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology and Europe’s most prominent grassroots organization for science, technology, and innovation in Europe—founded the European Young Researchers’ Award (EYRA).
The award recognises young scientists that show outstanding scientific performance on a European level. The award ceremony traditionally takes place every two years at the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF), the largest international conference dedicated to open dialogue on scientific research and innovation in, with and for society in Europe.
For the last 17 years, Cactus Communications (CACTUS), a global scientific communications company, has helped researchers, journals, publishers, societies, labs, and universities communicate their research to a wider audience of peers, policymakers, media, and general public. As part of a partnership with EuroScience, CACTUS will provide the winners of the EYRA with an Impact Package of dissemination and communication services aimed at spreading research in enhanced formats such as videos and infographics and helping it reach a broader audience of peers, public, and key decision-makers.
CACTUS will also help to communicate their science to the ESOF audience. The winners will also gain access to CACTUS’s growing research community where they can share their stories with researchers across the world. The winners can use this package twice in a two-year period.
On the awards, Abhishek Goel, Co-founder and CEO of CACTUS, said, “The future of science is in the hands of young researchers, and it is important that we empower and enable them to disseminate and communicate their research for the greatest possible impact. We are pleased to partner with EuroScience in helping promote recipients of EYRA.”
Matthias Girod, Secretary-General of EuroScience added:” CACTUS is the ideal partner for the EYRA award. The services provided by CACTUS to the EYRA winners will give higher visibility to their research achievements and can encourage young students to pursue a career in science.”
The recipients of this support will be announced at ESOF2020 in Trieste.
