The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued rules for setting up of Center for Women Education in colleges and university and has looked for the proposition. As indicated by a senior UGC official, “Women studies
“A women study Education must seek after an extensive, basic and adjusted comprehension of India’s financial substances and governance. Its principle parts incorporate women’s commitment to society and social activity and their impression of their own lives, the more extensive social reality and their battles and yearnings,” the authority said.
It will also propose strategies to assemble a favourable domain for women to take up positions of role model in differing parts; put together direct research with respect to women and monetary advancement, and recommend techniques to advance incorporation of women in the
“The centres will be monitored and evaluated periodically by the UGC. Every year, the head of the centre will present a report on the working of the centre to its advisory committee and then submit it to the UGC with minutes or comments of the members. The report will describe achievements and actions taken and will have both quantitative as well as qualitative information,” the authority said.
Assessment of the focuses will be on educating, research, extension exercises, courses, workshops, seminar, special lectures, field activity tasks and activity research, documentation and archive on women, association with other UGC centers and non-UGC centers, government scheme and NGOs.
“We have looked for proposition for setting up of new centers while the current centers should give simultaneousness in the recommended format to conform to the new rules,” the authority said.
