The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLUs) has declared the results for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 on its official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The examination took place on December 7, 2025, across 126 centres in 25 states and four Union Territories.
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 witnessed robust participation and impressive scores, with candidates from major urban centres emerging as strong performers. The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLUs) has declared the results on its official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
This year’s examination was conducted on December 7 across 126 test centres spread over 25 states and four Union Territories for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes offered by National Law Universities (NLUs) and affiliated institutions.
A total of 92,000 candidates had registered for CLAT 2026. Of these, 75,009 appeared for the undergraduate exam, while 17,335 candidates took the postgraduate test. The overall attendance stood at nearly 96 per cent, reflecting sustained interest in legal education.
The highest score in the undergraduate category was recorded at 112.75 marks, while the top postgraduate score stood at 104.25 marks. The Consortium also released detailed data on candidate performance based on gender and exam centres, noting particularly strong results from metropolitan hubs such as New Delhi and Bengaluru.
Gender-wise participation showed a higher turnout of female candidates, who accounted for around 57 per cent of test-takers, compared to approximately 43 per cent male candidates. Transgender candidates also participated in the examination, underlining the exam’s inclusive reach.
Following the exam, answer scripts were tabulated and verified on December 14 and 15, 2025. The final results were then placed before the Governing Body of the Consortium for approval on December 16, 2025.
As per the official notification, the CLAT 2026 undergraduate paper consisted of five sections with 120 questions. However, one question was withdrawn, and the final evaluation was conducted out of 119 marks. The postgraduate exam also had 120 questions, with minor revisions made to the final answer key, and was similarly evaluated out of 119 marks.
