The exams scheduled for November 15 have been postponed in the view of Cyclone Gaja. Anna University and all its affiliated colleges join the list of institutions that postponed exams due to the impending cyclone.
Earlier, Puducherry University also postponed exams scheduled for November 15 which were to be held exam centers located in Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, Yanam and Andaman and the Nicobar Islands.
The new dates of the exams postponed will be announced later.
Cyclonic storm Gaja will cross Tamil Nadu coast between Cuddalore and Pamban on November 15, bringing heavy rainfall coupled with gale wind, the Meteorological office said Monday as the Tamil Nadu government put its machinery on alert and kept on standby 30,500 rescue personnel.
Reportedly, as many as 22 cyclone shelters have been kept in readiness to accommodate people, adding that a 24-hour control room was functioning at the collectorate to assist people in distress.
