The admission process for the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) for the 2025-26 academic session has commenced across four prominent universities. The four-year integrated course, aimed at aspiring educators, will be available at Delhi University (DU), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Dr BR Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD), and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU). The programme combines undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree.
Admission Process and Key Dates
Admissions to ITEP will be based on the National Common Entrance Test (NCET), scheduled for 29 April. Candidates can submit applications online at nta.ac.in and exams.nta.ac.in/NCET until 16 March, 11:30 PM. Developed in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP), ITEP aims to enhance the quality of teacher education.
Expansion and Seat Availability
Delhi University introduced ITEP in 2023, initially at two colleges, and later expanded to more institutions. For the upcoming session, Mata Sundri College, Jesus and Mary College, Shyama Prasad Mukherji College, and DU’s Education Department will offer the programme. DU will provide 250 seats, while IGNOU has allocated 300 seats across its BA-BEd, BSc-BEd, and BCom-BEd courses.
Ambedkar University Delhi will offer BA-BEd (Preparatory) and BA-BEd (Secondary) programmes, while IPU will provide 50 seats for its BA-BEd (Secondary) course.
ITEP will be conducted in 64 selected central and state universities and colleges across India.
