Delhi university admission is round the corner of closure. The students have either taken admission or in the process to do the same. With the release of the sixth cut off, the closure to the process is at hand.
Amid all the admission processes, a new demand has arisen as a group of students have put their demand that there should be OBC reservations in the hostels of DU. The students have put the demand before Delhi University and waiting for the response.
The reply from the officials of the university has been awaited. The students have sought the rules and regulations stipulated by the University Grants Commission (UGC). As per the students, demanding the reservations in the hostel, rules of UGC clearly mentions that there will be reservation for OBC students in hostel.
However, most of the PG hostels do not notify or implement the stipulated reservation policy for them in the hostel of the university. Now, the students have been waiting for the reply from the DU officials in this matter.
It is important to note that the hostels of the university do not notify the reservation in the hostel facilities. The Delhi University has many PG hostels like D.S. Kothari Hostel, Gwyer Hall, Jubilee Hall, Mansarover Hostel, Meghdoot Hostel, Post-Graduate Men’s Hostel, and V.K.R.V. Rao Hostel.
Now, the PG students of the university have been demanding that they should be allowed to have the hostel facilities. The students are of the opinion that private accommodation are very costly for them and they cannot afford them. Now, all the eyes rest on the officials of the university regarding this decision.
