The Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the inaugural Skill India Centre in Sambalpur, Odisha on 20th February 2024. The center has been set up to provide youth with industry-relevant skills and promote socio-economic development.
As per the official statement released, Pradhan emphasized the essential role of skilled workers in propelling India’s advancement in the 21st century. He emphasized the importance of affordable education in empowering youth, stressing the need to democratize access to quality education. Offering cost-effective courses at the center would enable a significant number of youth to participate in the changing job market landscape. The aim is to uplift more than 1200 students through this initiative, enhancing their skill sets and matching them with the requirements of industries.
