The University of Delhi will accumulate less number of PhD students this year for the courses like Geography, Hindi, Microbiology and many others.
The information Bulletin of the university stated that PhD admissions have been reduced for 11 courses.
The reduction in the seat is owing to the implementation of UGC regulation of 2016.
As per the regulation, the commission put a limit on the number of MPhil/PhD students a professor, associate professor and assistant professor could supervise.
The rule stated that a professor can only supervise eight PhD scholars while an associate professor can supervise six and assistant professors four.
