Actress Priyamani will be soon participating in a marathon to raise funds for girl’s education and sanitation. On May 19, she will be participating in the TCS World 10K Marathon in support of NGO Habitat for Humanity India. To create awareness on safe sanitation and menstrual hygiene for girls under the campaign-“Stay At School”, she has partnered with the NGO.
Priyamani said that due to the lack of toilets and knowledge of menstrual hygiene, the school drop-out rate for girls is drastically rising. During menstruation period, if there are no basic sanitation facilities which can be a traumatic experience for them and ultimately it can have an adverse impact on their health.
She added further that participating in the marathon; she would like to take a step forward in helping the girls stay in school.
