The French Prime Minister Catherine Colonna on a three-day visit to India expressed the French government’s desire to increase the number of Indian students and host at least 20,000 students by 2025.
We want the number of Indian students to rise to 20,000 by 2025. I know it an ambitious target, but I also know that between India and France, the sky is the limit," she stated during aconversation with the students of Lady Shri Ram College. She also spoke about gender equality and the importance of the right balance between girls and boys in classrooms. She expressed her concern over the same and stated "Much has changed when it comes to gender balance but we are still not there yet."
As a part of her official visit to India, she will visit Mumbai to interact with leaders from the education domain and make site visits. She also held a session with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar “on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.”
