Do you love bird watching? Then get ready to join this global event which will take place from 15th to 18th February. It is conducted to create an annual snapshot of different bird species in India. The whole process is simple, you just have to go birding for at least 15 min and count all the species that you see. It doesn’t matter if you can’t identify every single species.
Login to www.ebird.org/india and submit your species list. For those new to eBird, read the brief description, and do go through the detailed beginner’s guide, create an account and start using eBird right away to get used to the platform.
GBBC India is the Indian implementation of the global Great Backyard Bird Count. It runs for 4 days every February. The Campus Bird Count is a sub-event of the larger Great Backyard Bird Count. It is a coordinated effort to document the birdlife in multiple campuses across India. The word “campus”, includes campuses of educational and training institutions, government institutions, research stations, corporate campuses, etc.
The event takes place from 15-18 February 2019. For further information check www.ebird.org/india and www.Birdcount.in/gbbc.
