Originally set to begin on February 1, 2025, the exams will now commence on February 10, 2025 after the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) decided to reschedule the HSSC or class 12 board examinations for 2025.
In Short
- Class 12 Goa board exams begin from February 10 ,2025.
- GBSHSE reschedules to help students prepare for JEE 2025 effectively
- Students must arrive by 9 am to avoid disqualification for late arrival
The official notice regarding the revised schedule was released by the board and as per the schedule, exams commence from February 10 and conclude on February 24, 2025. This change has been made to accommodate the students appearing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2025, which is expected to be held in the final week of January.
“The Board has carefully considered these concerns, recognising that JEE 2025 is expected to conclude by the end of January, leaving insufficient time for students to adequately prepare for their Board exams,” reads the official notice.
The board assures that the rescheduled date would provide the aspirants with enough time to concentrate on both their entrance and board examinations. GBSHSE has also instructed schools to prominently display the circular on their notice boards.
Furthermore, the board has made it clear that examinations will not be postponed under any circumstances, including during public holidays.
The examinations will be held for three hours, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, for the majority of papers. For select exams, the duration will be two hours (from 9:30 am to 11:30 am) or one and a half hours (from 9:30 am to 11:00 am).
Candidates are required to arrive at the examination halls by 9 am, as late arrivals after the exam has started will lead to disqualification.
