According to a report by Android police, Google Go app that was launched in Dec 2017 has crossed 100 million downloads on play store.
The reason could be that app comes in pre-installed on Android Go smartphones.
Android Go was launched by Google to provide stock Android for entry level smartphone users.
It focused on giving a unified Google experience to internet users on low end handsets.
