The British Council has launched the GREAT Scholarships 2025, offering Indian students the chance to pursue postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom across a variety of disciplines. These scholarships are being provided in collaboration with the UK government’s GREAT Britain campaign and participating UK universities.
The programme includes 26 scholarships, each valued at a minimum of £10,000, to support tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate course. The scholarships are divided into three categories: 21 are available for students pursuing diverse academic fields, two are allocated for postgraduate studies in justice and law, and three are aimed at fostering leadership in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
The initiative highlights the UK’s commitment to delivering world-class education and fostering global opportunities. By studying in the UK, students gain access to renowned academic institutions, diverse cultural experiences, and global networks, equipping them for success in their careers and enabling them to thrive in a competitive international job market.
Jointly funded by the British Council, the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign, and participating UK universities, these scholarships represent a significant effort to promote academic excellence and strengthen educational ties between India and the UK.
