On Monday, the High Court of Karnataka declined to issue an interim order for exempting The Foundation School, Bengaluru, from admitting students under the RTE quota.
Justice B.V. Nagarathna directed the petitioner – Joji Mathew, the secretary of The Foundation Educational Trust to admit students recommended by the state government under the RTE quota.
The petitioner submitted that he had filed an application for minority status certificate with the concerned authorities and was waiting for their approval. However, the judge ruled that the school is bound to admit students under the RTE quota.
