The ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad, conducted the Negotiation & Mediation Competition 2025. This is the 3rd Edition of the Competition conducted over 3 days, which is open to all Law Schools across the country. The event was organized under the aegis of the Frieden ADR Club in collaboration with the Centre for Excellence in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) of ICFAI Law School.
The event brought together students, faculty members, and eminent dignitaries to promote the culture of peaceful dispute resolution and encourage students to develop essential negotiation and mediation skills.
20 teams participated from different Law Schools across the country and each team had 3 participants.
Valedictory Ceremony: Chief Guest, Hon’ble Justice Smt. Moushumi Bhattacharya, Judge, High Court for the State of Telangana.
The Valedictory Ceremony of the competition was held on 16th November 2025 and was graced by the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Justice Smt. Moushumi Bhattacharya, Judge, High Court for the State of Telangana. In her insightful address, the Hon’ble Judge highlighted the evolving landscape of ADR in India and globally. She emphasized that “Mediation today extends even to complex cross-border disputes, demonstrating its growing international relevance. The Mediation Act, 2023 marks a significant milestone in India’s justice reforms by institutionalizing mediation as an effective, structured, and time-bound method for dispute resolution. ADR mechanisms collectively contribute to reducing the burden on the judiciary, thus providing the legal system with much-needed efficiency and relief” she added.
The ceremony was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) T. Koti Reddy, Vice Chancellor (Incharge), ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, Hyderabad, who emphasized ICFAI University’s substantial contribution to the world of education, including its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and professional development.
Prof. (Dr.) P. Ravishekhararaju, Director, ICFAI Law School, reiterated the institution’s dedication to strengthening ADR education through competitions, workshops, and training initiatives that equip students with essential practical skills.
Prof. (Dr.) Y. Pratap Reddy, Dean, ICFAI Law School, highlighted the dynamic role of the eight Centres of Excellence functioning within the Law School. He stressed that these centres thrive and deliver impactful work only because of the continuous support and collaboration of students and faculty members.
