President Ram Nath Kovind, inaugurated Indian Oil Corporation Bhubaneswar campus on Sunday, by the name of Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. Along with this, he also laid the foundation of Skill Development Institute, Bhubneshwar.
Both these initiatives were incubated by IndianOil under the flagship of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and were formally launched at the 6th Convocation programme of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneshwar.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship; Dr. SC Jamir, Hon’ble Governor of Odisha; Dr. Satya Pal Singh, Minister of State, Human Resource Development, Govt. of India; Shri Sanjiv Singh, Chairman, IndianOil; and senior officials from other PSUs across oil industry.
Applauding the initiative by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, president, Ram Nath Kovind said, “The setting up of these two institutes demonstrates the commitment of the Government of India towards the development of Odisha.”
He also hoped that the ICT-IOC campus would evolve into a state-of-the-art innovation hub for carrying out high-end research in chemical engineering, petrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals. He also told that Skill Development Institute of IndianOil aims to train about 50,000 youth over in the coming ten years in its campus.
