The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced an extension for the registration deadline for its Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online programmes for the July 2024 session. The new deadline for fresh admissions has been moved from August 31 to September 10, 2024.
Initially, the deadline was extended from July 31 to August 31 to accommodate more applicants. However, recognising the continued interest and demand, IGNOU has further extended the registration window, providing an additional period for candidates to complete their applications.
The official IGNOU Twitter account communicated the extension with a post stating: “Extension of last date for July 2024 Fresh Admission till 10th Sept 2024 in respect of all programmes offered in ODL/Online mode for July 2024 session (except for Semester based and Certificate programmes).”

Prospective students interested in enrolling in IGNOU’s ODL programmes for the July 2024 session can follow these steps to complete their registration:
1. Visit the IGNOU Website: Go to the official IGNOU website at ignou.ac.in.
2. Locate the Registration Link: On the homepage, find and click the link stating, “The last date for fresh admission in ODL/Online mode for the July 2024 session is extended till 10th September.”
3. Access the Registration Page: A new page will open where applicants can begin the registration process.
4. Start Registration: Select the appropriate link to initiate the registration. Create an account, complete the application form, and pay the required fee.
5. Submit and Print: Submit your application and print a copy for your records.
