Indira Gandhi National Open University has reduced the maximum duration of completing the Postgraduate programme by a year. The institution has stated that the students are required to finish their postgraduate programmes within the maximum duration of four years.
According to the earlier duration set for completing the programmes, the students were able to complete the postgraduate programme in a total duration of five years. Along with the postgraduate programmes, the institution has also put a limit on the maximum duration of the certificate, Diploma, and PG Diploma programmes.
With respect to the diploma and Postgraduate Diploma programmes, the maximum duration for completing the programme has been reduced to three years. The students who have enrolled in the Certificate programme are required to complete the course within a maximum duration of two years. The decision was taken at the 74th Academic Council meeting which was conducted on July 20. The Development will not however be applicable for the older students of IGNOU.
It has also been issued that there will be no change in the maximum duration of completing the undergraduate programmes. The minimum duration to complete the undergraduate programme is three years while the maximum duration to complete the course is six years.
IGNOU has also decided to withdraw the re-admission scheme owing to which there is no provision of re-admission for any candidate whose course is completing within June TEE 2021
