In a significant step towards enhancing academic collaboration and fostering innovation, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu and the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Srinagar officially established a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on February 27, 2024.
The ceremonial signing occurred today, 28th of February, 2024, at Bharat Tex 2024, a prestigious international industry platform hosted at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
This occasion marks the beginning of a promising partnership between the esteemed institutions, IIM Jammu and NIFT Srinagar, paving the way for joint initiatives and shared growth.
Professor Dr. Sudha Dhingra, the Dean of Academics at NIFT Delhi, presented the welcome address, followed by an introduction to both institutions and an overview of the main outcomes outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IIM Jammu and NIFT Srinagar.
Professor BS Sahay, the Director of IIM Jammu, and Dr. Javid Ahmad Wani, the Director of NIFT Srinagar, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of Tanu Kashyap, IAS, the Director General of NIFT, and several delegations, demonstrating a dedication to collaboration on multiple fronts.
The objective of this partnership is to boost academic excellence, support research initiatives, and nurture entrepreneurial talent in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covers a range of collaboration areas, including academic partnerships, research initiatives, executive education and training programs, joint seminars, conferences, and workshops, entrepreneurship and incubation initiatives, as well as the exchange of research and campus facilities.
The MoU signing marks a noteworthy achievement for both institutions, ushering in a new era of collaboration and excellence.
