The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, in collaboration with XLRI Jamshedpur, has unveiled a pioneering executive programme titled “Strategy and Leadership Lessons from Nature.” Designed for C-suite executives and senior leaders, the 3-day programm will take place from November 7–10, 2025, at Tadoba Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra. The deadline for nominations is June 10, 2025.
This unique initiative offers a rare blend of boardroom strategy and wilderness insight, aiming to redefine leadership by drawing parallels between natural ecosystems and organizational dynamics. Participants will engage in a curated journey featuring classroom sessions, leadership dialogues, reflective exercises, and guided safaris, facilitated by top academicians, wildlife experts, and strategy professionals.
Prof. Ram Kumar Kakani, Director of IIM Raipur, emphasised the programme’s relevance: “Nature has always been the best strategist, innovator, and aesthetic leader. This initiative helps leaders gain fresh perspectives by stepping away from conventional business environments.”
The curriculum is anchored in the Wilderness Leadership Framework, highlighting key competencies such as Wisdom, Innovation, Leadership, Diversity, Endurance, Resourcefulness, Nurturing, Equilibrium, Stealth, and Synergy. It also introduces the ‘FINER’ framework—Flexible, Intuitive, Non-linear, Excitable, and Responsible—alongside reflections on the ‘LEG’ traits—Laziness, Ego, and Greed.
The course promotes concepts like biomimicry, adaptability, sustainability, and the circular economy, offering actionable strategies to tackle today’s business challenges with ecological intelligence.
This initiative marks a bold step in integrating sustainability with executive education, positioning nature not just as a backdrop but as a teacher for modern leadership.
