Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, ranked 2nd among Engineering Colleges in India (NIRF 2024), started a five-month Certificate Programme in Design Thinking and Innovation programme to address the increasing demand for innovating problem-solving, it also aims to empower the professionals by mixing the principles of design thinking with creativity and innovation.
According to Deloitte’s 2023 Global Design Thinking Report, fully integrated design thinking in companies have achieved 50% quicker marketing of new products and the services experienced 70% higher customer engagement.
It is suggested In the report that the business incorporating design thinking are 2.5 times more likely to see a growth in their revenue. The demand for innovation-driven approaches is on the rise and the demand is endless, to solve this problem IIT Delhi’s programme trains professionals and equips them with the skills and abilities to compete with the quick transitioning digital landscape.
The programme takes innovation a step further by bringing in 2 classes on Generative AI, offering participants tools to enhance creativity, streamline processes, and deliver faster, more effective solutions.
The curriculum covers Human-Centred Design (HCD) to inform the real world needs, iterative Design and Sustainability to nurture continuous innovation, and Agile Design and Data-Driven Innovation for problem-solving, this helps the users to engage and cover the key topics necessary.
Participants will hone the skills necessary to innovate and master Prototyping and Ideation techniques at the same time learn Storytelling and Visualisation so they can communicate their ideas with ease.
Two masterclasses will be held on Generative AI, it will show the participants how AI can transform Design thinking process and how they could apply AI for product development, customer experience design, and business innovation by improving their impact in the marketplace.
Professor Vijayaraghavan M. Chariar, an award-winning expert in Design for Sustainability, Frugal Innovation, and Traditional Knowledge Systems,
with over two decades of experience, including entrepreneurial ventures like Ekam Eco Solutions, Professor Chariar will provide participants with insights into integrating design thinking with advanced AI tools, helping them drive impactful and sustainable innovation.
