An Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT-H) incubated startup PuREnergy created Pure EV, a long-run, elite electric bikes explicitly for Indian conditions and is set to dispatch commercially in coming months.
IIT-H release a public statement, the startup is propelling 10,000 electric vehicles in four models – Egnite, Etrance, EPlute and ETron in the following money related year. The electric vehicles were hatched in a 18,000 sq-ft office, co-situated at IIT-H for innovative work and for substantial scale creation of electric vehicles and electric batteries.
Nishanth Dongari, founder of Pure EV and assistant professor, branch of mechanical and advanced plane design, IITH said – “We have developed strong capabilities in the lithium battery packs assembly, active balancing management systems and rigorous testing standards for deployment in our electric two-wheelers.”
Rohit Vadera, CEO, Pure EV, said – “We have obtained ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) approvals for electric bikes and two-wheelers. The company has invested a significant amount of resources for on road testing the products for their market readiness.”
The vehicle offers significant cost savings over traditional ICE vehicles with running costs as low as 5 paise/km. The founders are also working to launch high-speed electric vehicles in the future.
