The first phase of placements at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) has exceeded expectations, with over 1000 job offers extended within just the first week. By the end of Day 7 (December 7, 2024), a total of 1036 offers were made, with 963 offers accepted. This includes both campus placements and Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs), underscoring the impressive capabilities of IITK students.
Among the top recruiters are global giants such as Deutsche Bank, ICICI Bank, Intel, Qualcomm, FedEx, Meesho, BPCL, Microsoft, Google, Texas Instruments, Databricks, and Micron. Additionally, 22 students have secured prestigious international job offers, marking a significant achievement for the institute.
Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, credited the success to the sustained efforts of the Students’ Placement Office, highlighting their work with alumni, startups, and expanding industry outreach. Prof. Raju Kumar Gupta, Chairperson of the Students’ Placement Office, emphasized the continued support from alumni and recruiters, which has opened new avenues in emerging sectors for students.
With the placement season ongoing, IIT Kanpur is poised to set new benchmarks for student success and career opportunities in the coming weeks.
