Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM) in IIT Kharagpur has shown an impressive result with 100% placement for the class of 2018.
The batch consists of 111 students and received 126 offers till the final placement, including 23 pre-placement offers, said a statement by IIT KRG. Total 68 companies participate in the campus placement and per cent.
VGSOM ranks 7th in the management category by the NIRF Rankings 2018 of MHRD. The companies participated in the campus placement drive are Accenture Digital, Titan, Crisil, JP Morgan Chase, Amazon, PWC, Trafigura amongst others. Nomura, the Trident Group, Azure Power, Novartis, 24(7), are the first time visitor companies.
The average pay stood at 16.29 lakhs per annum with median at 14.75 lakhs. And the highest package for international offer reached at 27 lakhs and for domestic worth 24 lakhs per annum.
Key roles offered by these companies are Area Sales Manager, Product Manager, Key Account Manager, Strategy Consulting, Business Process Consulting, Business Analyst, Business Development, Wealth Manager, Derivative Research Manager, Human Resource Manager, Risk Manager and many more which cover FMCG, Consulting, analytics, manufacturing, banking and financial service.
The Dean of VGSOM and the Co-Chairperson of Placements Committee Professor Prabina Rajib said, “100 per cent placement was possible due to the potential of the students, the faculty members and the reputation of the institute.”
