IIT Madras has seen a rise in popularity of the BTech in Artificial Intelligence course making it the third most popular course in IIT Madras this year immediately after it’s launch.
The new course Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics has become a trend all over the campus as it was newly launched and has already made its mark by becoming the third most popular course in IIT Madras.
IIT Madras launched the course in the month of June, this new BTech course has created a wave and prioritizes on math fundamentals, data science and responsible design.
As per the data report by Joint Implementation Committee (JIC) 2024, a total of 20323 students showed interest in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics (412L) alone this year.
The courses leading ahead in popularity are none other than the four-year Computer Science and Engineering programme which had 23,741 students and Electrical Engineering which caught the attention of 20,350 students.
Many other engineering courses have seen the involvement of at least 10,000 students.
The Physics course has seen the sudden jump in choice count from last year to this year 2024 making it the biggest this year.
