IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has teamed up with VyVoxel, a global AR/VR/MR company, to present a program focused on Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR) programming. This course aims to equip students with the necessary skills to pursue a career in this cutting-edge field.
The course is available online and spans 60 hours. The deadline for applications is March 31, 2024, and the inaugural batch will begin on April 1, 2024. Since the course is conducted online, there are no limitations on the number of students per batch.
Balamurali Shankar, the Chief Knowledge Officer at Digital Skills Academy – IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies, emphasized the significance of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) as they stand on the verge of widespread adoption. He highlighted the need to cultivate talent pools capable of meeting industry demands in the near future. Shankar expressed enthusiasm about the exponential growth of AR and VR across various sectors and the partnership with VyVoxel to offer this course to students.
According to IIT-M, recent advancements in Augmented and Virtual Reality have positioned the field for significant growth. Market analysts project that by 2032, the AR and VR market could range between $71.2 billion to $372.73 billion, with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) between 23.2% to 39.8%.
This AR and VR programming course addresses the demand for skilled professionals in the industry. It offers theoretical understanding and hands-on programming experience utilizing widely-used tools like Unity 3D, C# programming, Vuforia, and XR Interaction kit, among others. The curriculum focuses on instructing students on the process of designing, coding, and deploying AR and VR applications for various platforms including mobile devices (both Android and iOS), tablets, and headsets.
Furthermore, students have the opportunity to engage in real-world projects to better prepare themselves for the industry. The course has been meticulously crafted by AR and VR experts with extensive project experience and a comprehensive grasp of industry requirements.
