IIT Madras is now accepting applications for its new web-Enabled MTech in E-Mobility Program -

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) is currently accepting applications for its new Web-Enabled MTech in E-Mobility (WEMEM) program, for working professionals. Interested applicants should apply through the official website at code.iitm.ac.in/emobility by May 26, 2024, which is the application deadline.

This program is designed with the coordination between IIT Madras Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE) and the Department of Engineering Design, focusing on enhancing skills in the area of e-mobility, particularly in sustainable transportation technologies like electric vehicles.

According to the official website, the total tuition for the program is Rs 8.57 lakh, with a registration fee of Rs 3000.

Eligibility:

Applicants must hold a BTech or BE degree in any field of engineering and have achieved a minimum CGPA of 6.0 or 60% in their coursework.
Candidates should also have at least two years of professional work experience.

Selection Criteria:

Applicants are required to take a computer-based, proctored written exam that tests fundamental principles of mathematics and physics.
Candidates will have access to recorded videos and sample questions for the preparation of the test.

How to Apply: Step 1: Fill out the registration form for the program on the official IIT Madras website: code.iitm.ac.in/emobility

Step 2: Upload the required documents.

Step 3: Complete the registration with online payment of Rs 3000.

Step 4: Take the selection test on July 7, 2024.

Step 5: Check the results of the selection test on July 21, 2024.

Step 6: If selected, a candidate needs to confirm their admission by paying the tuition fee.

Applicants should be aware that there is no limit on the number of students admitted to the programs. The course curriculum is available on the official website for students to review.

The academic year is divided into three terms—January, May, and September, with each term consisting of 12 weeks of coursework followed by final examinations.

To earn a Master’s degree, participants need to complete 190 academic credits. This includes 105 credits from coursework, which includes theory and lab courses as well as a mini-project, and 85 credits from project work. Course evaluations will be conducted through regular assignments, projects (as required), quizzes or mid-term exams, and a final exam.
