The 2025 Global Workplace Skills Study by Emeritus, a global leader in professional education, reveals that 94% of Indian professionals believe AI proficiency is crucial for career acceleration.
Surveying over 6,000 respondents across 18 countries in industries like finance, manufacturing, IT, and education, the study highlights India’s leadership in AI adoption. A staggering 96% of Indian professionals actively use AI and generative AI tools at work, surpassing their counterparts in the US (81%) and the UK (84%). This widespread adoption has led to a 95% productivity boost among Indian workers, exceeding the global average.
With AI skills becoming a priority, 90% of Indian professionals consider AI expertise vital for career success, while 94% believe it enhances industry mobility. Notably, machine learning is among India’s top five most sought-after skills, with professionals twice as likely as their global peers to specialise in it.

Internal training programmes (44%) and career coaching (38%) are key initiatives, while 40% of employees expect financial support from employers for skill development.
