The only event of its kind in the world which showcases the work of emerging designers, the iD International Emerging Designer Awards was held earlier this month in New Zealand’s student capital Dunedin. Indian design graduate Shreya Jain, bagged the prestigious People’s Choice award for her spring summer collection – Tropical Confectionery. Gaining popularity with each passing year, iD Dunedin Fashion event, witnessed an impressive 200 entries from all around the world, with 43 finalists, representing 19 countries participating for the fashion show.
For her impeccable fashion sense and dynamic styling, Shreya won the coveted Otago Polytechnic People’s Choice Award. Her spring-summer collection catered to Women Ready to Wear – high fashion apparel and accessories.
Shreya Jain, a graduate from India’s prestigious National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Mumbai, expressed, “Design to me is very personal and is a way of expressing me feelings. I am thrilled to be able to showcase my designs at such a grand level with such renowned judging panel and talented people from across the globe.”
The Otago Polytechnic’s Fashion Design School is one of the most reputed institutes in New Zealand for Fashion Design. It is recognised for its international opportunities, industry connections and providing a platform to develop individual style and identity as a fashion designer.
