Rajat Gupta who set up the Indian School of Business in Mohali is currently involved in the field of education and public healthcare in India. He also formed the Public Health Foundation of India. He held the positions such as being the former managing director of McKinsey and was also on the board of various organizations like Goldman Sachs. He is on a part of a tour for promoting his new book, ‘Mind Without Fear’.
He is of opinion that the education infrastructure in India is not able to meet the growing demand for youth. India is a country which is growing at such a fast rate and the aspirations of students here are also very high. The demand for higher education is an unlimited one which is not being met as stated by Gupta.
Gupta further stated that Indian universities have a poor faculty and there is a deficiency of academic research for the education system in India. Concerning public healthcare, he is presently working in Gujarat with a few organizations to improve maternal and child health. His idea is to bring technological solutions to solve their problems.
Gupta was charged with insider trading in 2012, and due to this, he had to spend two years in jail. He wrote this book ‘Mind Without Fear’ in order to share his side of the story. He even now maintains that he is innocent and the charges were politically motivated against him.
