Set to start on December 27, 2018 on wards, the IIT-Bombay cultural festival will have participants from over 20 countries around the world. In order to attract more number of participants, the annual cultural festival of the Indian Institute of Technology (Bombay), Mood Indigo, has decided to give away more than the prize money to the winners this year, like a chance to share platforms with brands and pursue internships with prominent personalities of the industry.
This year’s theme is ‘Montage of Dreams’ which recently made it to the final level of FestX, is ready to begin from coming Thursday. Going on till the New Year’s Eve, the festival will see participants from over 20 countries showcasing their talent in music, dance and street art culture at the institute’s Powai campus.
Politicians such as Smriti Irani and Priyanka Chaturvedi, and psephologist Yogendra Yadav, comedians Abhishek Upmanyu, Kunal Kamra and Atul Khatri will be a part of this event.
“We decided to add such offers apart from cash prizes so that the returns for the efforts students put in will be meaningful enough. This will also encourage students to give their best through their participation,” said Ayan Sharma, media coordinator of Mood Indigo.
The winners of Indigo Saga and Desi beats will get to attend one-day workshop and video shoot with Sony Music India and The Dance Project. The top three winners of the ‘Humor Us’ contest will get to perform at an exclusive show at Canvas Laugh Club. Winners of Director’s Cut, a movie making competition, will get one month’s internship under Nitesh Tiwari, the Director of Dangal, and winners of Third Bell, a one-act stage play competition, will get to perform at Prithvi Theatre.
Ayan Sharma added, “One doesn’t have to be someone else, when being your true self is sufficient. Many musicians, fashion designers and dancers credit Mood Indigo saying it was the spark which ignited their lives with dreams. We want that spirit to continue through our fest.”
