Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) is not only a term that is referred by organisations to persistently improve products, services, or processes. The term can also be connected to day-today life of a person where he/she strives to walk on the path of consistent improvement. In that journey, self-talking through constant analysis of our own actions and engaging in constructive criticism leads to drastic benefits.
To explain this better, I happened to be a close friend of 2 siblings who grew in similar atmosphere yet ended up having completely different levels of self-esteem. While, I understood that individual traits of a person affected to a vast extent, it was the ‘kind’ of self-talking that they were engaged in influenced a lot. While, one put his thoughts on constant improvement through positive, genuine feedback, the other engaged in negative self-talk mainly focused on self-criticism. This ultimately resulted one being in higher name and fame while the other one having an ordinary life.
So, my dear readers, people think a lot on self-improvement. Most of the times such persons are lost in their own world thinking on how to be good at everything that they are doing. However, what is more important is to engage in positive self-talking.
For instance, if you commit a mistake. Then, instead of saying that “Oh! I’m so bad. I am always doing the mistakes,” one could better think that “I will keep in mind not to repeat this mistake again.”
Life is a path of discovery and amazingly interesting things keep happening to us at some moments. It is important to focus on the best part of life and this is only possible through positive self-criticism which otherwise — life — becomes dull and lack of lustre.
