Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has declared the establishment of three new departments on its campus, today, 14th March, 2024. An official notification stated that Droupadi Murmu, the President of India and the visitor of JMI, has approved amendments to the current statute 20. The Ministry of Education (Department of Higher Education) communicated this approval to Jamia Millia Islamia via its letter numbered 6-11/2022-CU 2 dated March 6, 2024.
The three newly established departments are the Department of Law under the Faculty of Law, the Department of Dental Sciences, and the Department of Medical Sciences under the Faculty of Dentistry. In addition, the university introduced a range of innovative self-financed programs in BTech and MTech in the beginning of March, 2024.
Included in the new offerings are BTech programs in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electronics (VLSI design and Technology), and Computer Science & Engineering (Data Sciences), along with an MTech program in Data Sciences. These self-financed programs come with an annual fee of Rs 1,50,000 for BTech and Rs 54,000 for MTech. Interested candidates can apply via the official website of Jamia Millia Islamia— jmicoe.in.
