Jammu University got INR 100 Crore under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The HRD ministry has given this fund to Jammu University as it received an A+ grade and accreditation of 3.51 points National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
The HRD ministry also directed the Jammu University to spend INR 15 Crore of the total amount on entrepreneurship and skill development courses. Jammu University, has set up three centres for entrepreneurship and skill development to fulfil the motto of RUSA for enhancing entrepreneurship and skill development sector.
According to Manoj Dhar, vice Chancellor of Jammu University, the name of these centres are business incubation and innovation centre, entrepreneurship and skill development centre, and industry, academia interface centre. Our focus is to make job creators rather than job seekers, Dhar added.
This is the second time, Jammu University had been granted funds under RUSA and earlier the university has received 20 crores by the MHRD. A total of 10 universities including Jammu University have been granted INR 100 Crore under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
