The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has officially confirmed the date for the JEE Advanced 2025 examination. The exam will take place on May 18, 2025, with Paper 1 scheduled from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The application forms for JEE Advanced 2025 are anticipated to be available in April 2025.
In a significant update, IIT Kanpur has revised the eligibility criteria for the exam. Candidates will now be allowed to appear for JEE Advanced twice in consecutive years, a change from the previous norm of thrice in three consecutive years. The official JEE Advanced 2025 website, jeeadv.ac.in, has been launched, where candidates can access the updated eligibility criteria and syllabus. The syllabus for the 2025 exam remains the same as the previous year.
Indian candidates who meet the JEE Main 2025 cutoff will be eligible to register for JEE Advanced 2025. Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates from JEE Main 2025 will be allowed to appear for the advanced exam. Foreign nationals, however, are exempt from JEE Main and can directly register for JEE Advanced. All candidates, regardless of nationality, must have completed their Class 12 exams in 2024 or 2025 to be eligible.
The JEE Advanced 2025 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at various centres both within India and internationally. The exam consists of two papers, each divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. To qualify for IIT admissions, candidates must attempt both papers. Candidates are advised to review the syllabus and previous year’s question papers for effective preparation.
