The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has announced the registration schedule and examination date for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced) 2026. According to the official notification, the entrance examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026, while the application process will begin in April.
The registration window will open earlier for international candidates on April 6, while Indian candidates will be able to register from April 23 through the official portal. The last date to submit the application form is May 2, 2026.
Admit Card and Examination Schedule
Admit cards for the examination will be available for download between May 11 and May 17, 2026. Candidates must carry their admit cards along with a valid identification document to the examination centre.
The exam will be conducted in two sessions on the same day:

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the JEE Advanced 2026, candidates must meet several criteria:
1. Performance in JEE Main
Only candidates who rank among the top 2,50,000 in JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 (BE/BTech) will be eligible to register for JEE Advanced. This eligibility rule applies across all categories.
2. Number of Attempts
Students are permitted to attempt the exam a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.
3. Class 12 Qualification
Applicants must have appeared for their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2025 or 2026, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
4. Previous Admission to IITs
Candidates who have previously secured admission to any of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are not eligible to appear for the examination again.
Exam Mode and Language
The JEE Advanced 2026 will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode at designated examination centres across India. The question papers will be available in both English and Hindi, enabling wider accessibility for students from different educational backgrounds.
The examination serves as the gateway for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes offered by the prestigious network of Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Only candidates who qualify in JEE Advanced are considered for admission through the subsequent counselling and seat allocation process.
