The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip shortly on its official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates registered for the January session are awaiting this update, which will confirm the city allotted for their examination centre.
The January session of JEE Main 2026 is scheduled to begin on January 21, 2026, and will include Paper 1 (BE/BTech), Paper 2A (BArch), and Paper 2B (BPlanning). The city intimation slip will be made available online for all eligible candidates ahead of the admit card release.
The city intimation slip is an advance information document that informs candidates about the exam city allotted to them. It is issued to help candidates plan travel, accommodation, and other logistics in advance, especially if the exam centre is located outside their home city.
WHEN WILL THE ADMIT CARD BE RELEASED?
As per past trends, the JEE Main 2026 admit card is expected to be released three to four days before the examination date.
The admit card will carry complete details such as the exact exam centre address, exam date, shift timing, and reporting instructions.
Many JEE Main aspirants are allotted centres outside their preferred locations.
Early access to exam city details allows candidates and families to make timely arrangements and avoid last-minute travel challenges. However, candidates must ensure they download the admit card separately once it is released.
JEE MAIN 2026 RESULT AND JEE ADVANCED ELIGIBILITY
The January session of JEE Main 2026 will conclude before the results are announced on February 12, 2026.
The scores will be used for admission to undergraduate engineering and architecture programmes across participating institutions and will also determine eligibility for JEE Advanced 2026. For candidates appearing in multiple sessions, the best score will be considered for merit ranking.
