The National Testing Agency has released an important advisory for students appearing for the Joint Entrance Examination Main April session from centres in the Middle East. The guidance comes in view of the ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia, with the examination scheduled to commence from April 2.
The advisory specifically addresses candidates registered at overseas centres in Dubai, Kuwait, and Bahrain, outlining key updates related to exam logistics, city intimation slips, and provisions for changing examination centres if required.
According to the NTA, city intimation slips have already been issued for candidates appearing in Dubai and Kuwait. These slips inform candidates about the city where their exam centre will be located, enabling them to make necessary travel and accommodation arrangements in advance.
However, for candidates assigned to centres in Bahrain, the update is still pending. The agency has stated that coordination with the Indian Embassy is ongoing, and further details regarding examination arrangements in Bahrain will be communicated shortly.
In light of the evolving situation in the region, the NTA has also provided flexibility to candidates who may wish to change their allotted examination city. Candidates facing difficulties due to travel restrictions or safety concerns are advised to monitor official announcements and take appropriate action within the stipulated timelines.
The April session (Session 2) of JEE Main is a crucial phase for engineering aspirants, as it provides an opportunity to improve scores for admission into premier institutions, including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official NTA website for the latest updates, download their city intimation slips promptly, and adhere to all exam-related guidelines to avoid last-minute disruptions.
