Jawaharlal Nehru University has demanded that the research scholars will be allowed to return to the campus in phases following the COVID-19 protocols. The university has stated that many of the MPhil and Ph.D. students left behind their laptops and research materials when they went home during the COVID-19 lockdown due to which continuing with the research work were not possible.
The students union has thus demanded that the university administration must work on a protocol to make sure that the MPhil and P.hD students can return to the campuses in phases. The JNUSU further stated that many of the universities have allowed research scholars to return to the campus in phases.
A letter has also been written to the Delhi Government stating that the students are ready to work with them to make it possible by following the COVID-19 protocols. JNUSU general secretary has also stated that the students are facing issues as the university has not disbursed the fellowships.
JNUSU president has also claimed that students have left the university abruptly and have been getting messages from students stating that they will have to be quarantined due to traveling which is why it is possible that they miss the exams.
