On Tuesday, the Karnataka SSLC board clarified that there was no leak in the English second language paper. This clarification came after images of the question paper were circulated on social media on Tuesday. The examination of Second language English and Kannada is being held on Wednesday.
PC Jaffer, Commissioner, Department of Public Instructions and Chairman KSEEB on Tuesday clarifies, “Images of the paper circulated on social media were of April 2016 exam. “ No paper has been leaked. SSLC exam will be conducted as per schedule”, he assured.
The images of the question paper were circulated on WhatsApp on Tuesday night following which the authorities issued the statement clarifying the leak. The board has registered as a complaint with the CCB police.
Earlier this month, Karnataka board has seen a number of question paper leak cases. The first case was reported with the first language Kannada paper which was leaked on WhatsApp. Although the board later confirmed that it cannot be considered as a question paper leak since the images of the question paper were circulated after the commencement of the examination.
The second incident came in with three separate incidents reported for the leak in the Mathematics question paper. This again was confirmed by the board as not a case of question paper leaking as the images of the question papers were circulated two hours after the commencement of the examination.
There was also a report of cheating where a private student circulated the images of the mathematics question paper on WhatsApp while appearing for the examination. The candidate was arrested after being caught.
