KL Deemed to be University proudly announces that Lakshmi Soumya Emani, a PhD scholar in Biotechnology, has been awarded the esteemed Neurochemistry France Travel Award. She is the only recipient from Andhra Pradesh and will attend an international neuroscience conference in the USA from 14 to 24 August. This award will support her travel to a prestigious research facility, where she will continue her pioneering work on neurological disorders while collaborating with leading global scientists.
Under the mentorship of Dr Jagannatha Rao, Pro Chancellor of KL Deemed to be University, Lakshmi’s research focuses on developing novel treatments for Parkinson’s disease using Curcumin Glycoside. Her dedication to neuroscience has previously earned her the New Investigator Travel Award 2023 from the Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society (EMGS) in the USA, where she presented her findings in Chicago.

Dr Jagannatha Rao expressed pride in Lakshmi’s achievements, emphasising the university’s commitment to interdisciplinary research and innovation. He highlighted KL University’s collaborations with Paris Brain Institute and Sorbonne University, which enhance its global scientific impact.
